The Monterey Bay in Print

The Monterey Bay has been the subject of the fine books of John Steinbeck, and has been the home to other authors, as varied as Henry Miller, Robert Louis Stevenson and Langston Hughes. A present-day author spends some time out here and sets some of his fiction on the Peninsula. He's hardly as distinguished as the writers I mentioned above—he writes sick and twisted thrillers—but if you want a diverting beach read, check out his writing at www.jefferydeaver.com.
